Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells breaks his wrist after hard landing sends rookie to  the hospital - Powell River Peak

On April 8, 2025, during a matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, Wells sustained a severe injury following a hard foul by Hornets guard KJ Simpson. While attempting a fastbreak dunk, Wells was undercut by Simpson, causing him to fall awkwardly and land face-first on the court. He suffered a broken right wrist, a concussion, and facial lacerations. The game was paused for approximately 23

minutes as medical personnel attended to Wells, who was then stretchered off the court and transported to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center.
