With his four-year contract deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, former Alabama standout offensive lineman Landon Dickerson is reputedly the highest-paid guard in NFL history.
Despite moving from his NCAA center position to left guard, the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft demonstrated a great deal of promise in his rookie season. Dickerson made waves during his sophomore season when he was selected to the Pro Bowl, and he repeated the incredible achievement this past season.
Dickerson joined Alabama as a graduate transfer from Florida State before the 2019 campaign began, and during his two seasons with the team, he started every game save one.
In addition to being a unanimous First Team All-American in 2020, Dickerson was a finalist for the Outland Trophy, which is awarded to the best interior lineman in the country. Dickerson won the 2020 Rimington Trophy as the best center in the country.
He played a big role in the Crimson Tide’s offense as they won the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship the previous season. However, in December 2020, he tore his ACL ligament during the SEC Championship game against Florida.
The retirement of veteran center Jason Kelce was one of several things the Eagles had to deal with since the start of the offseason. Although Dickerson is excelling at guard, his accomplishments at center for the Crimson Tide should give Philadelphia’s front office and coaches something to consider. Cam Jurgens will probably replace him.
