PITTSBURGH, PA — Joy is in the air for the Black and Gold faithful as longtime Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Michael Pettaway Tomlin has announced the birth of his new bouncing baby boy, calling the moment “a blessing beyond words.” Tomlin, known for his cool demeanor on the sidelines, couldn’t contain his excitement, telling reporters, “I’M SO EXCITED!!!”

The baby was born healthy early Monday morning at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, weighing in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces. Tomlin, beaming with pride, revealed that he and his wife Kiya have named their son Reggie Jalen Tomlin, a tribute to two of Indiana Pacers’ most beloved legends — Reggie Miller and Jalen Rose.

“I’ve always admired what those guys stood for—toughness, leadership, heart,” Tomlin said. “Reggie was a killer in clutch moments, and Jalen was smooth, smart, and bold. I wanted my son to carry that spirit, that legacy.”

The gesture caught fire on social media, with both Miller and Rose responding with congratulatory messages. “Now THAT’S an honor,” Miller posted on X. “Welcome to the world, little Reggie Jalen. Raise him strong, Coach.”

Tomlin, a father of three before the new arrival, shared that fatherhood continues to be one of his greatest joys. “Football is my passion, but family is my foundation,” he said. “This little man has already brought so much light to our lives.”

The Steelers organization also released a statement celebrating the happy news, calling it “a day of joy for the entire Steelers family.”
