Netflix has set the Norse fires ablaze once again with the announcement of Ivar’s Reckoning, a gripping new spinoff of the Vikings saga now in production. Alex Høgh Andersen returns as the enigmatic and ruthless Ivar the Boneless, resurrecting one of the most compelling figures in Viking lore for a darker, myth-laced continuation of his saga.
Currently filming under a veil of secrecy, Ivar’s Reckoning is said to explore the aftermath of Ivar’s apparent death in Vikings Season 6. But in classic Norse fashion, death is rarely the end. Early teasers hint at a supernatural twist—echoes of Valhalla, blood curses, and a haunting journey across both mortal and mythical realms. Set in the shadowy corners of the Viking world, the series aims to blend historical grit with eerie mysticism.
Andersen, whose portrayal of Ivar was a highlight of the original series, returns with even more intensity. “This is Ivar like you’ve never seen him before,” he shared in a recent interview. “He’s walking the line between legend and nightmare.”
