Netflix has officially unveiled a new chapter in the Vikings universe with its upcoming spinoff series, Floki’s Legacy. The announcement came with a surprise twist for longtime fans: the beloved and enigmatic shipbuilder, Floki, will return—but this time, his journey ventures into far darker territory.
The new series will dive deep into the mystical and tormented psyche of Floki, exploring the aftermath of his fateful departure in Vikings and his mysterious reappearance in Valhalla. Set in a shadowy, Norse-inspired realm, Floki’s Legacy promises a gritty blend of myth, madness, and moral ambiguity as Floki confronts old gods, inner demons, and his legacy as both a creator and destroyer……………………………lll
“We are happy to announce that we have started production,” said series showrunner Erik Odegard. “This is a story about the price of vision, the burden of faith, and the madness that lies between genius and madness. Gustaf Skarsgård will reprise his role, and we’re pushing Floki into uncharted waters—both literally and emotionally.”
The series will introduce new characters, including rival spiritual leaders, Viking outcasts, and an emerging cult that sees Floki as a prophet—or a curse.
Filming is currently underway in Iceland and Norway.
