According to the Huntersville Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. when Hattori’s 2025 Toyota Crown, traveling westbound on NC Highway 73, crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. Hattori was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
